About Black and Latino Angel Fund

The Urban Entrepreneurs Fund provides seed-stage capital to high-growth startups led by people of color, primarily Black and Latinx, with the aim of transforming urban entrepreneurs into scalable, investable businesses. Launched and operated by the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CUEED) at Rutgers University, the fund collaborates with angel investors and supports New Jersey–based ventures and other urban centers. It focuses on technology and tech-enabled startups in early to growth stages, with a geographic emphasis on the Greater Newark area, New Jersey region, and other urban communities. The fund seeks to bridge the capital gap and strengthen an inclusive innovation ecosystem that creates jobs and stimulates local economies.
