Data Centers en América Latina: Cinco Países Concentran El 80% De Las Infraestructuras Y Lideran La Inversión
Latin America and the Caribbean host 533 data centers, but five countries—Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Argentina, and Colombia—account for roughly 80% of the total. Brazil leads with 204 facilities and expects $37 billion from TikTok’s upcoming Pecém hub, while Chile and Mexico each have around 65 centers, highlighted by AWS’s $4 billion investment in Chile. Regional data‑center investments reached $19.73 billion through 2023 and are projected to exceed $50 billion by 2027, driven by AI‑focused demand. Despite representing only 5% of global capacity, the region is growing at over 12% annually, positioning it as the fastest‑emerging market worldwide.
