About the role

nao Labs is building an open‑source AI agent for data analytics. After joining Y Combinator (Spring 2025) and STATION F, we now have an AI IDE used by 100+ data teams and are launching a new open‑source analytics agent.

We are looking for a founding software engineer to help build this product from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Own and build across the entire stack – frontend, backend, and AI features.

• Design and ship core systems powering nao, including agentic workflows for data work and intuitive UIs for chat‑based analytics.

• Shape the product roadmap by turning user feedback and company goals into technical and product decisions.

• Work daily with the founders in a small, fast‑moving team to invent how data teams use AI.

• Contribute to sales and business strategy as part of a 4‑person team.

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience building and shipping a real product end‑to‑end.

• Hands‑on experience with agentic systems.

• Strong product instinct (UX & design quality).

• Desire to join an early‑stage startup and build tech and team from scratch.

• Ability to work independently, ship fast, make decisions, and own outcomes.

• Autonomous, curious, and eager to learn the newest AI technologies.
