The appointment gives Infor dedicated regional leadership to capture fast‑growing APJ ERP demand and to scale its partner ecosystem, a critical differentiator in the competitive cloud‑ERP landscape.
Infor’s latest leadership shuffle underscores the company’s ambition to capture a larger slice of the Asia‑Pacific and Japan (APJ) enterprise‑resource‑planning market, a region projected to outpace global ERP growth over the next five years. By installing Geoff Thomas—who steered Qlik’s regional expansion and held senior roles at Microsoft and Juniper—Infor signals confidence that seasoned, market‑savvy executives can translate the region’s rapid cloud adoption into tangible revenue. The APJ territory, home to diverse manufacturing, food‑service and logistics firms, offers fertile ground for Infor’s industry‑specific cloud suites.
The appointment also reshapes Infor’s operating model, giving the APJ unit direct authority over strategy, sales and partner development. New vice‑presidents for Australia‑New Zealand and Southeast/North Asia report to Thomas, creating a lean hierarchy that can react to local regulatory shifts, language nuances, and partner capabilities. This regional autonomy mirrors a broader trend among ERP vendors, who are moving away from centralized decision‑making toward localized execution to accelerate time‑to‑value for cloud deployments. A deeper partner ecosystem will be crucial for delivering customized industry clouds at scale.
For customers, the restructuring promises faster implementation cycles, more tailored support, and stronger alignment with local compliance requirements. Companies such as Sealord and My Food Bag can expect Infor’s cloud solutions to be fine‑tuned for regional supply‑chain complexities, while system integrators gain clearer pathways to co‑sell and co‑innovate. As APJ enterprises continue to modernize legacy systems, Infor’s emphasis on regional expertise positions it to compete more aggressively against SAP, Oracle and emerging niche players. The move sets a benchmark for how ERP providers can leverage leadership depth to drive growth in high‑potential markets.
Infor announced on February 4 the appointment of Geoff Thomas as SVP and general manager for Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), naming him to oversee regional strategy and operations as the company looks to accelerate growth across key APJ markets. Thomas will be based in Sydney and is responsible for Japan, Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), Southeast and North Asia (SENA), and India.
Infor said the appointment reflects a continued investment in the APJ region, with a focus on strengthening customer engagement, expanding local expertise, and scaling its partner ecosystem to support industry-specific cloud deployments. The company positions APJ as a strategically important growth market within its international business.
Thomas reportedly brings decades of leadership experience across Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Infor, he spent six years leading and expanding Qlik’s business in the region, and previously held senior roles at Microsoft, Juniper Networks, Polycom, and OneLogin.
“The APJ market is instrumental to Infor’s overall strategy and home to many dynamic businesses driving technological innovation and growth,” said Wolfgang Kobek, executive vice president and general manager of International Business at Infor. He added that Thomas’s experience and regional understanding would support Infor’s efforts to deliver industry-specific cloud solutions and improve customer outcomes across the region.
Thomas has already made changes to the regional leadership structure. Aidan Brecknell has been appointed VP and managing director for ANZ, based in Sydney, while Victor Ng has assumed an expanded role as VP and managing director for SENA, covering ASEAN, Greater China, and Korea, and is based in Singapore.
Infor serves customers in more than 200 countries, including leading organizations across food and beverage, automotive, industrial manufacturing, and supply chain–intensive industries. APJ customers cited by the company include Sealord, Riverina Water, NCC Limited, My Food Bag, CJD Equipment, Vallen Asia, and Spykar Lifestyles.
Infor is reinforcing regional leadership as a growth lever in APJ. The appointment shows how global ERP vendors are placing renewed emphasis on regional executive authority to drive market-specific execution. For ERP leaders, this highlights the importance of localized decision-making as cloud adoption and industry-specific requirements diverge across APJ markets.
Industry cloud strategies increasingly depend on partner depth and local expertise. Infor’s focus on expanding its APJ partner ecosystem reflects the operational reality of scaling industry cloud solutions across diverse regulatory, language, and market environments. For systems integrators and ecosystem partners, the move signals continued opportunity tied to regional specialization rather than centralized delivery models.
Leadership continuity and structure are being aligned to execution speed. By quickly naming ANZ and SENA leaders under the new APJ structure, Infor is signaling an execution-oriented approach to regional growth. This suggests a stronger emphasis on responsiveness, support alignment, and industry-focused delivery at the regional level.
