Insurance That Covers Male Infertility Procedures Improves Opportunities for Family Building

A new study published in *Urology* shows that states mandating insurance coverage for male infertility procedures, alongside female care, experience six times higher IVF utilization and the greatest number of IVF‑born babies per 100,000 women. Male factor infertility accounts for roughly one‑third of all cases, yet insurance policies have traditionally focused on women. The research analyzed claims from over 91 million insured Americans between 2003 and 2020, comparing states with comprehensive mandates, IVF‑only mandates, and no mandates. Findings suggest that expanding coverage to men can directly boost family‑building outcomes.
