Ruxolitinib Cream Shows Strong Efficacy and Reassuring Safety in New Analyses

New integrated safety data from 20 trials confirm that ruxolitinib 1.5% cream delivers a low incidence of serious infections, cardiovascular events, thromboembolic events, and malignancies across atopic dermatitis, vitiligo and other inflammatory skin conditions. A phase 3b trial in adults with moderate atopic dermatitis showed 70% of patients achieved EASI‑75 after eight weeks, with deep responses (EASI‑90/100) and itch relief detectable within 15 minutes. Plasma concentrations remained far below the myelosuppression threshold, supporting a favorable systemic exposure profile. Together, the findings suggest the topical JAK inhibitor can provide robust efficacy while mitigating the safety concerns that have limited systemic JAK use.
