Turkish Navy Commissions Havelsan’s Sancar Armed USV
On 24 February 2026 the Turkish Navy commissioned Havelsan’s SANCAR armed unmanned surface vehicle (USV) at a ceremony in Ankara and Aksaz Naval Base attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and senior ministers. The platform, developed with YONCA TEKNİK, leverages the ADVENT combat management system, AI‑driven image processing and secure communications. SANCAR joins four other domestically‑produced USVs, expanding Turkey’s maritime unmanned fleet for anti‑surface warfare, mine counter‑measures and network‑centric operations. The event also marked the groundbreaking of Europe’s largest simulator production facility and the inauguration of Havelsan’s KAAN Technology Center.
