EUSPA Selects Thales Alenia Space to Develop EGNSS Service Demonstrator

On 12 February 2026, the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) awarded Thales Alenia Space a framework contract to design, develop and deploy the European Global Navigation Satellite System (EGNSS) Service Demonstrator. The demonstrator will serve as a centralized testbed for future Galileo and EGNOS augmentation services, integrating geostationary satellite links with internet‑based dissemination. By enabling end‑to‑end validation of signal‑in‑space and terrestrial data streams, the platform will generate empirical data for new PNT standards. The effort underpins Europe’s push for autonomous, high‑integrity positioning across critical sectors.
