Austal USA Launches Final EPF - Future USNS Lansing (EPF 16)

Austal USA launched the U.S. Navy’s final Expeditionary Fast Transport, USNS Lansing (EPF 16), marking the 26th ship to use its modular launch system. The vessel was lifted, moved onto a barge, floated for the first time in a dry dock, and returned to the new construction facility for final outfitting. EPF 16 will become the Navy’s third Flight II medical variant and is slated for sea trials later this year. The launch underscores Austal’s refined processes and collaborative partnerships with Navy and industry suppliers.
