Chainlink Introduces CRE to Fast-Track Institutional Tokenization
Chainlink has launched the Chainlink Runtime Environment (CRE), a software platform that lets institutions write and deploy smart contracts across public and private blockchains with built‑in compliance, privacy and data‑integration tools. The company cites adoption by Swift, Euroclear, UBS and Mastercard as evidence of demand for the $867 trillion tokenization market. CRE supports cross‑chain contracts, ISO 20022 messaging standards and regulatory checks while leveraging Chainlink’s price feeds and proof‑of‑reserve services. Early pilots include JPMorgan’s Kinexys and Ondo cross‑chain settlement and UBS Tokenize’s on‑chain redemption of a tokenized fund, with privacy extensions slated for early 2026.
