Foundation Behind Restaking Protocol EigenLayer Plans Bigger Rewards for Active Users
The EigenLayer foundation has tabled a governance amendment that creates an Incentives Committee to steer token emissions toward participants securing Actively Validated Services (AVS) and the EigenCloud suite. The plan earmarks 20% of AVS‑related fees and cloud‑service revenues for EIGEN buybacks, shifting rewards from passive restakers to "productive stake" that bears slash risk. By linking incentives to real network usage, the proposal seeks to revive the EIGEN token, which has lost 91% of its value this year. The committee would have authority to adjust allocations without costly contract upgrades.
