Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter Announces New Album 'Mirage - Ballet for 16 Dancers'
Thomas Bangalter, co‑founder of Daft Punk, announced his first solo album in almost two decades, "Mirage - Ballet for 16 Dancers," slated for June 5 on Alberts & Gothmaan/Erato. The eight‑part work serves as the score for a new ballet by Damien Jalet and artist Kōhei Nawa, blending ambient, industrial, IDM and trance elements. A ten‑minute single, "Mirage: Part II," has already been released, and Bangalter will debut the music live at Art Basel’s "Warehouse Artefacts" event on June 20. The project marks a rare return to the decks for the French producer, who last performed publicly in a B2B set with Fred again… in 2023.
