YouTube Shorts May Be Killing Your Channel Growth
Hit a new milestone, which is great, but I’ve drawn a few conclusions that are a bit unsettling. 1) YouTube shorts are NOT helping channel growth; it might be killing it. You can click to go back and see milestone posts. I used to average ~150 subs a month, now 25. People who watch shorts (in my category) don’t convert to longform views or subs. 2) You get paid more on long form, thus diluting your audience with shorts can tank your revenue.
