Strategic Visibility Drives Business Impact, Not Vanity Metrics
I recently asked several executives three questions about their journey to building visibility online. One thing became clear. Value, for them, came from connecting their activity back to business impact - not from impressions or post counts. I'm starting to see clear patterns emerge between execs who treat visibility as a task to tick off vs a strategic way to build trust. Here are just some of the habits and behaviours I've noticed that separate the two: VISBILITY MISTAKES👇🏼 VS LEADERSHIP INFLUENCE👇🏼 Outsource their voice —> develop it as a leadership behaviour. Obsess over reach and impressions —> focus on meaningful engagement. Post only corporate content —> share expert opinions and insights. Talk only about the company —> tell human stories too. Sound scripted and polished —> show up authentically and real. Post but never engage —> join employee conversations. Waiting for the perfect post —> show up consistently, without fail. Networking for follower counts —> build strategic connections that matter. Stay silent due to risk —> understand that visibility builds trust. Any others to add?
