Bank of America Backs 1%–4% Crypto Allocation, Opens Door to Bitcoin ETFs

Bank of America has begun recommending a 1%–4% allocation to digital assets for its wealth‑management clients, citing comfort with volatility and thematic innovation. Starting Jan. 5, the bank will give clients access to four Bitcoin ETFs—Bitwise, Fidelity, Grayscale, and BlackRock—through Merrill and Private Bank platforms. This marks the first time its 15,000 advisers can suggest regulated crypto products, aligning with moves by Vanguard, BlackRock, Fidelity, and Morgan Stanley. The guidance reflects a growing institutional acceptance of modest Bitcoin exposure.
