Bitcoin ETFs Failed a Critical Holiday Stress Test as $1.29 Billion Vanished Through “Tactical” Positioning

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded a net outflow of roughly $1.29 billion over the twelve‑day holiday window from Dec. 15 to Dec. 31. The outflows were uneven, with about $812 million flowing in on two days while the remaining days saw $2.10 billion exit, and the IBIT fund alone contributed nearly half of the total outflow. Bitcoin’s price hovered around $89,000, reflecting limited momentum despite the sizable sell pressure.
