A U.S. District Judge issued a temporary restraining order on November 21, 2025, barring OpenAI from using the word “cameo” or similar terms on Sora, with the order set to expire on December 22, 2025 and a hearing scheduled for December 19. Despite the order, the Sora app continues to display the contested terminology.
