I’ll take the other side. Crypto gaming and metaverses were mostly “too early”. Need much better infrastructure. But it’s a strong clear use case once the tech is there. It’s like trying to sell computer games in 1986. You can make simple games like Tetris, but unlocking the power of the internet for multi-player gaming wasn’t yet functionally possible even though it theoretically was. In traditional gaming today you can build off Unreal engine and tons of primitives. We’ll eventually have the equivalent for the crypto parts of a crypto game.
they should make a celtic pride 2 where the guys kidnap players to try to ensure their prediction market wagers win... is judd apatow still on here...
My latest exclusive interview with Brian Ward, CEO of Savvy Games Group, about investing in games and acquiring game companies. He still expects to be active in doing deals. https://t.co/5hWlkaV9QO
I actually strongly disagree with the take on solos. Feels way easier to tackle multi-step contracts as Assassin in solo queue where people play much more cautiously and aren't hunting in groups.
UPDATE: At 1:13am ET this morning, Gill's lawyers submitted a heated motion to the court, saying Krafton must explain why it shouldn't be sanctioned. Peeved at Krafton confirming "May" to IGN, then PC Gamer and Kotaku Says Gill hadn't had a...
In just one day, Crimson Desert has already sold double what Nioh 3 sold in its first two weeks

The OG map in case the Persian Gulf map is stale. Props for the H4L folks. Though they got it right due to war perhaps. https://t.co/znhzJ8nL12
Instinctually knowing to hold triangle to activate a consumable when it's on the ground but square when it's in the inventory screen has made me feel like god in Marathon.
restarted crimson desert on ps5 pro and ended up playing all night. much better time knowing what to do and being a pro at navigating the confusing menus. i can just vibe with the world and it looks gorgeous on...

The rallying around Crimson Desert as a game that NEEDS to succeed and be really fun in order to somehow own the libs is a generally fascinating and confounding phenomenon that seemed to come out of nowhere. https://t.co/9ODNH1Du5E

Ok pearl abyss, lock in and finish the real revolutionary game you’ve been working on DokeV https://t.co/umz9vpI5mj
Theresa Loong's Kickstarter campaign for a documentary on Brenda Romero's career in games is in its final 37 hours. You can support it here. https://t.co/aJnlpqX47g
i mean people are agreeing that it plays like it or worse. i dunno what to tell you guys
This is why I had to stop playing Cyberpunk 2077, it's so tedious, it's not a game
Probably one of the most stylish games I have ever played. The design aesthetic ooozes into every nook and crannie of this game. It's a very sweaty game but the loop is so addictive and I just can't get over...
NEW: There's already new Subnautica 2 drama. Lawyers for newly-restored CEO Ted Gill say Krafton had no authority to announce a May early access release for the game this week Krafton says Gill can still make his own decision Details: https://t.co/xIPT0MfvYr

i am cheering for my Korean kin at Pearl Abyss. Crimson Desert will likely sell really well and I'm happy and proud to see Korean games shake up the scene at a regular pace now. https://t.co/jrYwvmmkpG
Enjoyed doing this interview with Scopely's co-CEOs on their 15th anniversary, as I was there at the beginning. https://t.co/0qJbgQUOgW
Where is Albert?? - a fun game I love to play. I think of him at least 3x a week, as he's working on something profound that I noodle on in my spare cycles.
Had a great time talking on the @engadget podcast with @devindra about DLSS 5! https://www.youtube.com/live/WNSp9cbRe5M?si=8vEj9wwh_u7iqDe3
We've released a FREE whitepaper on evergreen games. These are games built around exceptional replayability with no fixed endpoint. The paper looks at why these games thrive and what developers and publishers need to know about them. https://t.co/LrqktDsvFD
since i don’t like crimson desert’s combat feel, people are asking what combat feel i enjoy and ninja gaiden 4 last year is a great example. classic platinum games in general. “Here comes the feeling”

AI 3D generation just had a watershed moment at #GDC2026. While the show floor was packed with hype, the real revolution was quietly running live at the @Tripoai booth. Here’s what most ppl missed 🧵 ↓ https://t.co/eIYhMvWjlG
In 2014, the same activist urged Nintendo to "Just think of paying 99 cents just to get Mario to jump a little higher." This ridiculous nonsense is still online: https://t.co/KzZa7miCN0 So we're in for a treat.
Apparently not good enough for investors. Stock price for publisher Pearl Abyss in Korea (where it is Thursday afternoon) currently -29.88%.
the DLSS 5 news and memes have truly made it to the mainstream. I've even had non-techie people ask me about it
i am a journalist who’s covered crime and military and education and politics and the zero hand holding is the best part about crimson desert. it does feel like a classic CRPG realized in a dynamic and well animated massive...
good clip. this isn’t my kinda combat but it can work for others. again, you can tell how loose it feels. not a fan but if you love stacking moves regardless of feel, you’ll enjoy it

We could have had a few more years of the NSF, but we decided Creepy Mark needed a Second Life account... https://t.co/ZCYreLM6q8
i do agree that playing crimson desert on deadline felt miserable. it’s why i stopped. sorry i didn’t make embargo but id rather just sit with a game than rush through it, especially since i have a lot of other...
I just got a stealth demo of a world model that builds video games that blew me away at GTC from @overworld_ai, a small startup. Coming over the next few weeks. Small models are about to generate full video games...
this is exactly why i’m holding off any final judgment on crimson desert. actually reminds me a lot of starfield. which means i could love it anyway. but others won’t.
No Crimson Desert review from me yet. exploration is incredible BUT … i dislike the combat quite a bit. it’s not bad. but it plays like the Assassins Creed RPG era of slashing a guy 5-6 times before doing a...
PS5 Pro has definitely become more valuable as time wore on. wasn’t that great at launch but since then i’ve been glad to have the upgraded platform. it’s worth it now if you want to stay invested in the PS...
I am finally mustering up the courage to stream Marathon 👀 Watch my become a goblin in real-time https://www.twitch.tv/goldenboyftw
NEW: Last Wednesday at GDC, Nintendo held a Donkey Kong Bananza talk. At the same time, Microsoft ran a talk teasing Project Helix And PlayStation? Half an hour after those talks, they ran a session about Horizon fonts and Destiny logos. It was...

Super lovely little cozy tower defense sim I've had a ton of fun playing with my kids during the early access phase.
Kiln, Double Fine’s multiplayer online pottery party brawler, launches on April 23rd on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5. It will be an Xbox Play Anywhere title, and will be “Handheld Optimized” https://t.co/QbQSmf8gGP
This is a really excellent piece and your relationship with Elder Scrolls, or even caring about "lore," has no bearing on whether you'll enjoy this exploration about the role of world building in storytelling.
DLSS 5 might be the moment where the anti AI pendulum starts swinging back. Many in the 3D community who were against generative AI are now pushing back on the "everything is AI slop" crowd. The pendulum swung too far...

I don't think the industry gets just how viscerally the average gamer is rejecting the AI race https://t.co/wESXnzkamo https://t.co/NQvmfVuwXD
BLAST Rotterdam story lines are plentiful. ⚖️How big is the gap between Vitality and the field? 🐦 Falcons without kyousuke again.. for now.. 🆗 Last bits of moving and shaking for some top dogs pre VRS cutoff day. 🌊 Liquid with malbs 🏃♀️NaVi and Aurora...

the non DLSS 5 pic looks closer because like a model’s selfie, it is lit with intention people are forgetting: lighting in real life is often ugly. photographs, film are lit using makeup, angles etc everyone hates the game of thrones...
I don’t know about the traffic behind him, but thats a great racing sim setup https://t.co/1DORsXSfeJ
I understand it’s a work in progress but it’s weird to hear people say the public can’t scrutinize DLSS 5. If you don’t want anyone criticizing anything, don’t show it to us! What are you showing me, come on. https://t.co/uLiN5ZJwJ9

big thanks to @cvxfreak for sending me a signed copy of his book Itchy Tasty, the definitive documentation of Resident Evil’s development that every YouTube video essay uses. also managed to score the now-rare Switch 2 boxes of Requiem. https://t.co/rWKmvZmNX6
