Why did it take me so long to see this? really, to accept it Had a conversation yesterday that finally crystallized what's been happening in the market. 👇 Companies aren't looking for traditional consultants anymore. They're looking for AI-Powered Consultants. Not consultants who ignore AI. Not consultants who are open to / considering AI. Consultants who have already integrated AI into their methodology and can deliver faster + sharper. for marketing consultants, that means: e.g. scraping hundreds of websites, competitor content, G2 reviews in minutes vs. days e.g. creating audience segments and ICPs from existing data sets e.g. drafting campaign concepts, email sequences, landing page copy e.g. building custom GPTs trained on your specific frameworks The signs were everywhere: - Clients asking me to use tools like Dovetail - 48-hour insight platforms 🤯 - GPTs replacing entire consulting workflows - traditional research timelines feeling impossibly slow - smart ppl I respect recommending that I build an "Anna GPT" tbh, I've been kinda resisting this shift because I'm a people person. I love talking to buyers. I love the nuance of live conversations. I love catching the moment someone gets feisty or excited about something. Digging for surprising insights that help companies sharpen strategic bets. But here's what I'm realizing: the value isn't in choosing between AI and human insight. It's in combining them. So here's what I'm thinking about + building: An AI-powered research methodology that preserves what makes my work unique (the specific way I handle research conversations, the focus on business decisions first, the translation of insights into strategic tradeoffs) but delivers it faster, and more scalably. Not abandoning service. Not replacing human conversations. Just making my work more tech-enabled. Because ignoring a trend, I just think it's detrimental. And this trend is here to stay. so either I go all in or I go do something else (e.g. paint, but I'm not ready to go all in there, yet) What are you seeing? Are you feeling this pressure to evolve? What are you changing? P.S. Thamsanqa Ndlovu our conversation yesterday - I really needed that. Thank you. 🙏
