Pinnacle Medicines Adds $89M for Oral Peptides With Properties of Injectable Biologics
Pinnacle Medicines announced an $89 million Series B financing, bringing its total capital to $134 million, to advance an AI‑driven platform that designs orally bioavailable peptide drugs. The startup aims to launch its lead asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease program in human trials by the end of 2024, with additional candidates for obesity, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory bowel disease and atopic dermatitis slated for 2027. By focusing on peptide engineering rather than excipient formulation, Pinnacle hopes to create first‑in‑class oral peptides that match injectable biologics in efficacy. The funding also supports research into bispecific oral peptides that hit two targets simultaneously.
