Non-Degree Credentials: Popular but Value Remains Uncertain
Non-degree credentials are surging in popularity, but are they adding value for the learners that are earning them? To dig into this question, @JSelingo and I sat down with @mattsigelman , CEO of the Burning Glass Institute, a research organization focused on the future of work and workers. As he describes here, the data isn’t great on the share of these credentials that are driving labor market improvement for students. But it wasn’t all doom and gloom. In the rest of our conversation, which you can find in the comments, we discuss how learners and institutions can use this data to better leverage those credentials that are providing valuable alternatives (or supplements) to the traditional college degree.
