What's happening: India AI Summit sparks $240B investment pledge led by Reliance, Adani and Google
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 announced a historic $240 billion AI investment pledge. Reliance committed $110 billion for AI infrastructure over seven years, Adani pledged $100 billion through 2035, and Google disclosed a $15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam along with new subsea cable routes. The Indian government also added 20,000 GPUs to its AI arsenal.

Google announced it will roll out its Gemini AI to the Google TV Streamer, replacing Google Assistant and enabling more natural, conversational voice interactions for content discovery and general queries. Users can ask nuanced questions like movie recommendations for mixed tastes or recaps of shows, as well as educational or DIY queries, by pressing the remote’s microphone button. The rollout begins this week for users 18 and older and follows earlier Gemini deployments on select TCL and Hisense TV models and the Walmart onn 4K Pro device. This update is part of Google’s broader plan to supplant Google Assistant with Gemini across its hardware ecosystem.
