Ameren Transmission Co. of Illinois has begun piloting Heimdall Power’s dynamic line rating (DLR) technology on its most congested transmission corridors. Since December, the utility installed 15 sensor units that clamp onto lines and will add another 15 before year‑end. The DLR system provides real‑time data on temperature, wind and ice, allowing line capacities to be adjusted dynamically.
