AI confidence is high in the UK. AI impact… much less so. I’ve just published an article with The AI Journal exploring what we’re seeing across UK organisations: a growing trust gap between how much leaders say they trust AI and how much they’ve actually invested in making it trustworthy. The data is stark: 💠Around a third of UK organisations sit in what we call the danger zone, high confidence in AI, but weak governance and safeguards. 💠Only a small minority have truly aligned trust with accountability, transparency and operational rigour. What’s holding us back isn’t ambition or regulation. It’s execution. Trust doesn’t come from belief in AI’s potential, it comes from data quality, governance that works in practice, and explainability that stands up when decisions matter. The full European findings sit (comments below) within the Data and AI Impact Report: The Trust Imperative, which digs into how trust (when done properly) directly correlates with business impact. If you’re working on AI strategy, governance or scaling beyond pilots, I’d be interested in your take: Where do you see the biggest gap between confidence and capability today? https://lnkd.in/euppUMMN
