Firmus Partners with Vast Data for APAC Expansion

Firmus announced a partnership with Vast Data to deploy the Vast AI Operating System as the data foundation for its Asia‑Pacific expansion. The collaboration targets high‑throughput, disaggregated GPU clusters, ensuring efficiency across thousands of GPUs in its sovereign AI factories, including the Project Southgate initiative in Tasmania. By leveraging the model‑to‑grid architecture and NVIDIA’s Cloud Partner reference design, Firmus aims to unify data access and support secure multi‑tenant workloads. The deal follows a recent $10 billion debt financing round that will fund the broader rollout.
