Walk Japan Adds New East Hokkaido Trek to Portfolio

Walk Japan has launched the East Hokkaido Trek, a nine‑day, eight‑night guided hiking tour across eastern Hokkaido’s remote landscapes. The itinerary follows portions of the newly established 410 km Hokkaido East Trail, linking three national parks from Kushiro’s wetlands to the UNESCO‑listed Shiretoko Peninsula. Daily walks of 11‑18 km traverse wetlands, volcanoes, forests and farmland, ending at the Sea of Okhotsk, with highlights including the Ramsar‑designated Kushiro Shitsugen, Atosa‑Nupuri volcano, Kawayu Onsen and crater lakes Kussharo‑ko and Masshu‑ko. The tour limits groups to 12, offers onsen‑style lodging, and starts at ¥798,000 (≈US$5,300) per person, departing June through October.
