We lose a team member before that team member drags down culture. That's not about the person we lose. It's about the people who stay. My job as a leader is to create an environment where everyone can thrive. Culture is that environment. I protect it because my team deserves to work somewhere that brings out their best. I've learned to watch for slippage. The small stuff that signals drift. When someone starts blaming customers instead of solving problems. When "that's not my job" creeps back in. When someone brings an idea and gets shut down before it can even develop. When a win happens and nobody says a word because everyone's too buried to notice. Shutdown culture kills initiative. Silence after wins kills momentum. Culture doesn't collapse. It drifts. Small things slide, then compound. Scaling a company is hard. Scaling culture is harder. Get the second one right and the first gets a lot easier. Protect culture at all costs.
Instead of resolutions this year, I'm focused on habits. I don't often control the outcome, but I absolutely control the work, discipline and regularity of how I get there. This year I have four things in mind: 1️⃣ Health I...
