Treat Generative AI as Intelligence, Not Deterministic Software
We often talk about LLMs as another tool to tack onto a workflow, but that framing isn't quite right. In this clip, Naeem Abraham (Senior Director of Product Strategy at C&R) presents a ... better perspective. Generative AI doesn't behave like a software system. It behaves more like, well, an intelligence. And intelligence reasons and makes mistakes, just like we humans do. The real error is forcing AI to act like a deterministic software system and then being surprised when the upside disappears and problems emerge. Some decisions can tolerate error, but most decisions involving loans can't. That means using generative AI in different roles, with clear boundaries.
