Maybe sounds like just words, but countries not chipping in here are running a risk. Let us look at the US perspective: 1. Iran is a terroist state, that has been supporting terroism for decades, had a 'death over Israel and USA' policy. 2. The problems and the insecurity of the Hormuz strait has always been there - the events right now is just underlining it. 3. An Iran with nukes and many more drones and missiles would have been a geopolitical disaster. 4. The oil problem is actually not a primary problem for US, since US is producing the oil it needs. The oil not coming out is a problem for Europa, Japan, Asia, and China. With that US perspective the US will notice and remember which countries that helped, and which that did not help. Doing nothing is an active decision that matters for the future.
