New AI's about to radically change "influence:" I was the first influencer, @biz tells people (he started the Website you are reading me on). I was the first one to get 1,000 followers here on X because back in 2006 I had a hugely influential blog covering new things from Silicon Valley. My thesis: The new algorithm (er Grok, er, AI systems made by @xAI) will completely filter out low quality posts from low quality people. For instance, the Consumer Electronics Show is run by Gary Shapiro. If people are talking about CES, shouldn't his posts get distributed wider than anybody else's to people who care about consumer electronics? Yes. And same with me. Shouldn't an entrepreneur get wider distribution than me? Yes. Now what will the new algorithm do? It is run by Grok. Which already knows EVERYTHING about EVERYONE on the system. At least that it can find about you online or in your patterns of participating here on X. It also understands EVERYTHING about the content that we are publishing. (If you aren't closely watching me it watches my videos and can tell you EVERYTHING that is in them). If you are lucky enough to read this, it means that Grok read this post, understood it, and understood that you might be interested in it. It also means that it found this post among the most interesting things to distribute to your feed. While you are doomscrolling through X on the very little valuable time you have, it knows that you have time to see maybe 100 posts. I built the lists of nearly the entire tech industry so you can put them into X Pro and see just how much content is ACTUALLY being published, in real time (if you aren't using X Pro you really have no idea what is actually being published). I see about 30,000 posts on my screens a day, and that's if I do nothing else (and I'm seeing a very tiny slice of the content that's actually being posted by the hundreds of millions of people here -- my lists only have about 50,000 of them gathered over the 18 years here). So if you are only using For You feed for a few minutes a day while on a break, you are only seeing a very very very small sample of what is actually happening here on X. And by the end of the year Grok will get a LOT more picky about what it shows people like that. So, how do you actually get through? Post far more interesting things. Original reporting. Insights no one else has. News no one else has. THINKING no one else has. Or share a lifestyle no one else has. That's what I'm trying to do. No one else I am watching is seeing such a wide variety of startups AND doing consumer research about how they are using/reacting to said technologies and products. Even with that work Grok might not distribute me very much. My best work is long videos that most of you don't have time to watch. So it doesn't distribute them to very many people. Having 500,000 followers no longer matters (that much). And same for those in microcommunities elsewhere here on X. Whether sports, politics, news, or quilting. Ask yourself, what makes you credible at what you are trying to get people to see? Work harder on that. X is about to radically change (and already is as the new Grok-run system has started to be turned on). Tricks that worked a year ago will no longer work and there will be many complaints and people who leave the service, is my prediction. But there will be a different flow. X will be far more useful to use soon. To learn. To keep up. To understand. This will get noticed and I'm already telling entrepreneurs they are stupid if they don't post about their work and products here on X. Over the next year you will notice that if you do get distributed you will have a much higher quality of readers/viewers than exists on the other services. I'm already seeing that effect as I watch my lists. And entrepreneurs are already telling me that X is the best place to find customers. That will be more and more true over time. It's changing how I think about my work and my business since I agree with Jude that influence is over. Credibility is in. And I'm trying to bring that to you in spades. Appreciate you following me, subscribing to me, and engaging on what I'm doing. I'll be doing more things for my subscribers soon, since you all are signaling to Grok that you are highly interested in my content. And I'm going to be doing a lot less resharing of other people's posts. I built the lists so you can watch everything. Curation's relevance to the feed is also going away, since Grok is far better than me at picking interesting things to show you. This change will be highly entertaining to watch go down and many people who are making money by taking other people's work and sharing it here, which is what a lot of influencers do, or just pushing advertisements into the system, which is what a lot of influencers do (I have a list of hundreds of them here on X) will see their businesses collapse. On the other hand, other stars will rise in each micro community here (each list of mine is really a micro community). Bring value to your community and you'll do OK. Love! And @Grok, did I miss anything here? Love and kisses.

The AI agent economy is going to create chaos on so many levels.

I'm more and more convinced after visiting with AI geniuses in San Francisco that LLMs are not the way forward. World Models are. Or this. Or cognitive archiectures. All of which we will call "AGI" when they arrive next year.
