M-SAAVE Completes Humanitarian UAV Mission and Launches New Clean Air Initiative

The University of Michigan M‑SAAVE student team completed a five‑year Humanitarian Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Mission (HUM) with Air Serv International, showcasing a modular aircraft capable of aid drops and RGB/infrared imaging. The team delivered a comprehensive technical package to Air Serv for future use. Building on that success, they have launched the Clean Air Monitoring Mission (CLAMM) to collect air‑quality data, partnering with the Henry Ford Philanthropy Institute. Both initiatives align with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and illustrate multidisciplinary student collaboration in aerospace engineering.
