ClickUp Adds New AI Assistant to Better Compete with Slack and Notion
ClickUp unveiled version 4.0, adding two AI agents—a channel‑wide assistant that proactively answers questions using internal knowledge and external sources, and a general‑purpose assistant called Brain that can generate ideas, schedule meetings, draft content and interact with tools like Google Drive, OneDrive, Figma and Gmail. The rollout, enabled by the recent Qatalog acquisition, also bundles AI‑powered meeting summaries, live video/audio Syncups with transcription, calendar‑task auto‑adjustments and a unified team dashboard. ClickUp said the new features make it easier to switch between tasks, docs and communications, aiming to offer a single platform that rivals Notion, Slack and Microsoft Teams. The company, now over $300 million in ARR and backed by $537 million in funding, said it plans to go public within two years.
