What's happening: Telcos pivot to AI revenue models as new monetisation frameworks emerge
A GSMA Intelligence report released at MWC 2026 shows telecom operators are shifting AI projects from internal cost‑saving tools to revenue‑generating services. The study outlines three new monetisation models—AI Connectivity Provider, AI Compute Provider, and AI Solutions Partner—backed by pilots from Singtel, Reliance Jio, Deutsche Telekom, SK Telecom and KDDI.
