This Test Shows How Bullet Resistant Tires Can Be
Yee Yee Life YouTuber Parker Smith conducted a live‑fire test on five brand‑new 37‑inch Nitto Mud Grappler tires to see how ordinary consumer tires stand up to bullets. The experiment showed that small‑caliber rounds such as .22 and 9 mm can be stopped or only partially pass through, while larger handgun cartridges like .45 ACP and .44 Magnum fail to breach the second tire. A .50 caliber Desert Eagle penetrated two tires before stopping, and a 5.56 mm penetrator rifle punched through nearly three tires. The results highlight the inherent bullet‑resistant properties of tire steel belts and thick rubber, but also their limits against high‑energy projectiles.
